Our Quick Guide: The hall is beautiful with all the varnished wooden panelling and stonework but you do need to consider your decor carefully to make sure you get the best impact. Almost all of our lighting hires include hanging something overhead, whether festoon or fairylights: this has the effect of lowering the appearance of the room to create a more intimate atmosphere and draws the guest's eyes to remain within the party area. The stage already has a starcloth backdrop (black cloth with white fairylights in it) so you don't need to hire that from Steve Page Lighting unless you want a white backdrop or denser display of fairylights. Similarly there are already some stage lights but please check with teh hall directly for use of them. Finally we often install uplighters to add a splash of colour but a combination of fairylights/Festoon and uplighters is sufficient to illuminate the space without the need for the main hall floodlighting. When booking overhead lighting please remember that we need access for our ladders: Lighting is best installed in the evening so that it can be adjusted to refelct the same daylight conditions that your event will experience- we can work around tables that have been set up but don't put out chairs until we are done!
