The vast majority of the work undertaken involves a complete service arrangement. This involves initial meetings concerning the show to decide on general approach and the aspirations of the client, formulation of the lighting design, implementation in terms of supply, rigging and operation and removal following the completion of the hire.

Events undertaken include:

• Theatre: Plays, Musicals, Dance Shows;

• Art: Exhibitions and Shows, Launch Events, Public Art 

• Youth Work: Fashion Shows, Dance Shows, Music Videos and similar workshops

• Weddings: Ceremonial, Garden and Architectural Illuminations plus reception and dance floor lighting

• Corporate Events: Conferences and Product Launches

Steve has been involved in the lighting of stage shows since the age of about 16 and was already occasionally taking charge of the lighting for professional productions at a local receiving theatre before even leaving school. Following this encouraging start, Steve continued to gain industry experience and has worked in very diverse lighting environments - from traditional theatre venues, to concert halls, festival stadia, students associations, unique wedding sites, historic monuments and a wide array of other venues. Steve switched to freelance work in the mid 90's and added to that with the establishment of the Venture One Lighting Hire Service.

Venture One Lighting design was set up over ten years ago as a vehicle for delivering bespoke lighting hire to clients in the general Fife, Angus, Tayside and wider area, With regular and sustained investment in lighting equipment it has now amassed a lighting stock which is constantly being updated, is adaptable and well maintained. With staff accompanying every hire, the quality of the equipment and suitability for its use is assured.
